This page explains the limits of what Bitment provides. It supplements, and does not replace, the Terms of Service.
General
Bitment is software. It helps a professional-services firm manage clients, files, communications, billing, and bookkeeping, and it includes AI features that can draft, summarize, transcribe, and propose actions. Bitment is not a substitute for professional judgment, and nothing displayed, generated, or calculated within Bitment is a statement of fact about your specific situation unless a qualified professional at your firm has reviewed it.
Not tax, accounting, legal, or financial advice
Bitment is not a CPA firm, law firm, tax advisor, broker-dealer, investment adviser, bank, money transmitter, or custodian. Nothing in the platform, including computed figures, drafted communications, or AI output, constitutes tax, accounting, legal, financial, or investment advice. Decisions based on information from the platform should be reviewed and made by a qualified professional, taking into account the specific facts of the matter.
AI-generated content
- AI features (chat, drafting assistance, summarization, transcription, and autonomous Agents) can produce output that is incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong, sometimes stated with confidence.
- A human should review AI-generated content before it is sent to a client, filed with a regulator, or otherwise relied upon.
- Where an Agent would change data or take an action, it proposes that action for a human to approve before it takes effect. Some workflows can be configured to let an Agent act without a per-action approval for a limited time; your firm controls whether that configuration is used and is responsible for reviewing the Agent's activity.
- Bitment does not train AI models on your data. Bring-your-own AI provider connections are governed by that provider's own terms.
Bookkeeping, cost basis, and tax forms
- Cost-basis calculations, Form 8949 and Schedule D exports, HIFO, FIFO, and LIFO lot-selection methods, mark-to-market computations, and similar outputs are computational aids based on the transaction data available to the platform. They are not tax advice and are not a substitute for a tax professional's review.
- These outputs are only as accurate and complete as the underlying source records (bank feeds, wallet data, manually entered transactions) connected to your firm's account. Gaps, duplicates, or errors in source data will produce gaps, duplicates, or errors in the computed output.
- Verify computed figures against your firm's own source records before filing or relying on them.
- The filer, not Bitment, is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any tax return or filing that uses figures produced by the platform.
Digital assets
- Bitment never holds, transfers, or controls your or your clients' funds or digital assets, and is not a money transmitter or custodian.
- All bank, exchange, wallet, Lightning, and payment-processor connections available in the platform are read-only. Bitment never holds private keys, seed phrases, or spending credentials for any account or wallet you connect, and cannot initiate a transaction on your behalf.
- Bitcoin-related features read on-chain and wallet data using addresses, extended public keys (xpubs), descriptors, or read-only credentials your firm supplies, or by connecting to your firm's own node or third-party accounts using your firm's own credentials.
- Payments on invoices you send through the platform are processed by the connected payment processor under that processor's own terms; Bitment does not hold or control the funds involved.
- Price and market data shown in the platform comes from third-party sources and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not treat displayed prices as a real-time execution price.
- Network (miner) fees are set by the Bitcoin network, not by Bitment, and can change quickly.
- Transactions you make outside the platform, through your own wallet, node, or exchange account, are irreversible once broadcast. Bitment cannot reverse, cancel, or recover a transaction you have sent.
Bank and payment data
Bank and card transaction data is provided through Plaid and other connected payment processors, using your firm's or client's own authorization. Balances and transaction feeds may lag the true, real-time state of an account by hours or days depending on how frequently the source institution updates. Confirm a balance directly with the financial institution before relying on it for a time-sensitive decision.
Telephony, recordings, and transcripts
Call and meeting recording, transcription, and related features are provided through Bitment's telephony and transcription integrations. Your firm is responsible for providing any notice, and obtaining any consent, required by the call-recording, wiretap, or similar laws that apply where your calls and meetings take place, including in two-party consent jurisdictions. Automated transcripts may contain errors, particularly with unclear audio, overlapping speech, accents, or technical or industry terminology, and should be reviewed against the original recording before being relied upon.
Electronic signatures
The Services include electronic-signature functionality designed to support signatures that are legally effective under the U.S. ESIGN Act and applicable state UETA adoptions, where applicable. Your firm is responsible for determining whether electronic signatures are appropriate and enforceable for a particular document, party, or jurisdiction, and for any required disclosures or consents.
Third-party services and links
Bitment integrates with services operated by other companies, including Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Signal, Telegram, Twilio, Quo, Fireflies, Asana, QuickBooks Online, CCH Axcess, Plaid, Stripe, and various AI, Bitcoin, and market-data providers. Each of these operates under its own terms and is responsible for its own availability, accuracy, and security. Bitment is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or downtime of a third-party service your firm chooses to connect.
Campaigns and outbound messaging
Bitment's campaign and messaging features let your firm send email, SMS, and voice communications to prospects and clients. Your firm is solely responsible for complying with CAN-SPAM, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), applicable A2P 10DLC registration requirements, and any other law governing the messages it sends, including obtaining any required consent and honoring opt-outs.
Beta features
Features labeled beta, early access, or preview are still being tested. They are provided as is, may change or be removed without notice, and may be less reliable than generally available features. Treat beta output with extra caution before relying on it for client-facing or production work.
Availability and data backup
Bitment maintains automated backups and standard infrastructure redundancy, but no software is guaranteed to be available without interruption, and no backup system eliminates the risk of data loss. Keep your own copies of records that are critical to your practice, and use the platform's export tools periodically, in addition to relying on Bitment's storage.
Forward-looking statements
Statements on Bitment's marketing site about future features, roadmap, or plans are forward-looking and may change. They are not commitments, and a feature described as planned or upcoming may be delayed, changed, or not released.
No warranty summary
The Bitment platform, including all AI output, computed figures, and connected third-party data, is provided as is and as available, without warranty that it is accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Full warranty and liability terms are set out in the Terms of Service.
